Images

  • Once an image is uploaded to Heroes Wiki, the uploader automatically grants Heroes Wiki the license to use the image in pretty much any way. Technically and legally, you don't need to ask any permission. However, out of common courtesy, if the image is more personal in nature (like this one or this one) it would be polite to ask. But if it's an image that is Heroes related or not really a personal image, I don't think there's any need to ask. A thought for the future

Just a quick thought, since both fire and earth abilities have a -kinesis suffix, if we get an air manipulation ability or a water manipulation (coming soon?) ability I think we should also add the -kinesis suffix to them as well. It will give some similarity to the four elemental abilities and it seems that the writers may be more inclined to give them 'comic-book names'.   • Honestly, I'd say that it would depend on how the ability name is presented to us. We don't name abilities so they go together or match other ability names. We have naming conventions that determine how abilities are named. If an air manipulation ability is presented to us in an Assignment Tracker profile and is called "air jumping" or "oxygen manipulation" or something like that, then that's the name we'd go with. If the name is not explicitly given to us, we'd go through a consensus check.   • That's not up to me, that's up to the community. There needs to be consensus first, and that's usually done on the talk page. However, there are quite a few things that need to be changed so it stylistically meets the standards of Heroes Wiki. For instance, the title shouldn't be capitalized. You've got an empty section that doesn't need to be there, which also means that the "Other Victims" subheading can be removed. You have sentences with no periods. "After going after" sounds awkward.   • No, you don't need to create another user. You can just create the pages in your user namespace. That means articles should be named something like "User:Joshuakorolenko/Character Name". Peter's ability

peter didn't use any other ablity other than shape shiftng so for now we have to assume thats the only power he has. But I do think that in the future he may get his original powers back or he his new ablity will evolve and he will be able to hold multible ablities --Rageman 10:57, 8 June 2009

  • Upload a smaller image. If you upload an image that's 1,037 × 648, it's going to look huge on the page. Most images we have at Heroes Wiki are 450 × 350. Episode images are 300 × 169, and character images are 200 × 250. -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 15:19, 8 June 2009 (EDT)

  • No. I don't see where you tried to put the source for the pictures. I see where you tried to categorize the pictures (which is not sourcing them), but you did not do that correctly. Sad note

They fixed the hacking problem but I will not be able to come to this site any more even without my user name, because i really need to study up on my Heroes knowledge. Also i have been going to evolutions websites and I remember that in one episode claire used a search engine, something like yahoo on a budget, and it actually exists, or existed due to lack of visitors. someone was "hacking" it when I got there. --Hawkeye 11:53, 11 June 2009 (EDT)

Danko, It will take me just about as long to fix any edits as it would take you to fix the edits...and I would be willing to wager that I probably have less time available to me than you have to you (see the top of my talk page). However, I'm not sure calling a character in a fan-created series "Sum Dum Gai" would be considered vandalism, at least not in the sense that we use the term on Heroes Wiki. As I said, I haven't checked through ERROR's edits (and I'm not sure I'll have time tonight), but based on what you're saying, Danko, I don't consider this vandalism. Some might consider my my Cockney Heroes entry to be vandalism, but I consider it just good, clean fun. I'm sure ERROR thinks the same of his own creations. When you invite somebody to join a fan-created series with no guidelines, you have to expect a wide range of tones to the contributions. I would politely tell ERROR your concerns, fix the edits (or let him do it) and move on from there. A mistake on Peter Petrelli page

hey i was just at the Peter Petrelli page and found a mistake: it says that his Intuitive Aptitude was absorbed from Sylar. This not true. Peter absorbed Intuitive Aptitude from Gabriel Gray (exposed future). Please change it so I can sleep at night thanks!

Adding "Death circumstances" or something like that to all dead character articles

I think the death of characters is very important, i suggest putting the episode/season, location, killer/cause and appearances after death. People killed by Sylar would be linked to the articles Victims of Sylar and so forth... The reason is that a main character's death is somewhat important in the storyline, and people who search the cause of death have to search the whole article and often its not in the last episode the character is seen( example: Linderman). Also, this section appearing in the list at the top will immediately inform the user that the character IS dead. Characters that come back from the dead like Claire are included. Tell me if its a good ideea. - Discipol

  • I think many Sylar's victims are already linked like that. For instance, on Nathan's page, one of his significant others is listed in his infobox as Meredith Gordon (deceased). Is that what you're talking about? If you're talking about adding a new section to the infobox, I don't think it's necessary, but you can bring up the idea on template talk:Character box. However, if you're referring to a new section (like a subheading) called "Death circumstances", I'm not really in favor of that idea. Couldn't that be covered in the lead paragraph or the "About" section? I think that's very much more appropriate. I noticed that when a new article is created, they're also listed as not patrolled, however, I can't find a "patrol this" link anywhere, is it possible to patrol an article which has only one revision? Crew Autonavs

Hi there, I was just going to create some more crew members, but when I went to add the autonav to someone from hair and makeup and the autonav had two options, one for hair and one for makeup yet both autovans are the same. Do you want them separated and another portal made? or does one simply need deleting? This is also the case with music and sound. I will create other crew members until this is sorted.   • I think right now, one portal and one navbar is all that's needed for hair and makeup. Ditto sound and music. However, I left two options for the same navbar in case we ever decide to split them later on down the road. For instance, if we decide in the future that we need a navbar/portal for hair, and a separate navbar/portal for makeup, all we have to do is create the navbar and portal. We wouldn't have to update the individual pages because they would already appropriately say "hair" or "makeup" on them. In other words, when you make the crew pages (and by the way, thank you so much for making all the crew pages!), just put "hair" for those who are hair people, and "makeup" for those who are makeup people.
