Women in Refridgerators
I admit I have. But it is just getting ridiculous and I wanted a response from other fans. When I used to watch Lost, it really annoyed me. Now I see Heroes following that trend. Oh and add Meredith Gordon to that overwhelming list. If only that could get rid of Angela, Matt and Noah. And maybe Peter. User:Blood69 14:38, 1 February 2010 (AEST)

- I'm not sure what you mean...but you'll definitely need to fix your signature since it's messing up text on pages. I think you need to close a font tag. Welcome back, by the way. -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 16:00, 1 February 2010 (EST)
- I took care of the font tag. If you mean the square image in your signature, you just need to change the red color in your signature to be the same as the color of the badge. It appears to be #ac0003. -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 16:18, 1 February 2010 (EST)

So how do I make the background colour different? I've put red and then the ac0003 in, but it still comes up in the normal red.

- Great job on the latest iStory chapter, Ryan. I enjoyed reading it tonight and thought the action played out well, especially the scene with Eli and two clones. ;) There were a few times that the word 'bead' was used, that seemed a bit awkward to me; not sure if the word was supposed to be 'read' instead. Other than that, it flowed pretty well. I hope they give you the chance to write some more.--MiamiVolts (talk) 01:46, 2 February 2010 (EST)
- Thanks, Miami! Funny about the word "bead" -- I actually didn't write those two lines, but that's how it came back to me after it was edited. In the next draft, I changed the words to "read" along with a bunch of other changes. Most of the other changes were accepted, but the word "bead" stayed. I still don't get it. Oh well! :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 16:17, 2 February 2010 (EST)

Hey,,
I just wanted to apologize if my post came off as even slightly offensive. I didn't mean it to sound that way. If it counts for anything, I don't usually follow the iStories, since I have a hard time following an "Optimal path", but I read the one you made and definitely enjoyed it :)--Riddler 01:08, 2 February 2010 (EST)

Enhanced Strength Split
I saw that you made a comment on the Enhanced strength talk page, but didn't give your opinion on the split. Personally I see enough evidence of a difference to warrant a split, not to mention the 12:1 for the split. The split template has been up for nearly 2 weeks and we've only had one opposed, which didn't even really have a reason. Anyway, I just want to know your opinion on the situation. Thanks. --mc_hammark 13:20, 2 February 2010 (EST)
- I don't really have an opinion on the issue. -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 16:19, 2 February 2010 (EST)
- Could you split it for us now, it's been up for ages now, only one person is opposed with the reason of "why do we call all the others enhanced?". Thanks. --mc_hammark 12:55, 5 February 2010 (EST)
- I don't see consensus. See here. -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 16:03, 5 February 2010 (EST)

- That doesn't negate the opinions people have already expressed. People who previously felt that there should be no split would need to be contacted for their opinions, like I was above. My opinion has changed to such that I don't have an opinion anymore. We would need to check with active members (I would say "active" means having made an edit in, say, the last month or so) to see if their opinions have changed, too. Specifically, Piemanmoo, MiamiVolts, and HiroDynoSlayer need to be checked with to see if they're okay with going against an opinion they've already expressed. -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 16:16, 5 February 2010 (EST)

Survey
Hi RGS, I just found this picture at the unused files section and i think it speaks the truth, this survey comes on my screen sometimes, and i think it's really annoying. So i wonder if you could do something about it? I dont know for sure if I should ask it to you or ask it to Admin.-- Yoshi | Talk | Contributions 13:38, 2 February 2010 (EST)

Henry Strauss
So in looking over this image again, I have to be honest, it looks way more like an "H" than a "W". It seemed like an intentional connection. What are your thoughts on connecting them, or otherwise asking someone on staff to see what the intention was? --Ricard Desi (t,c) 20:37, 2 February 2010 (EST)
- Comparing it to the H in Hal and Hills, and then to the M in Mother and the W in White, I think it's an M or a W, not an H. I asked Christina Haberkern, but she never got back to me. Maybe I'll try a follow up. -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 20:59, 2 February 2010 (EST)
- On close inspection, it would appear that at the very least it's not a W, as the vertical potion of the letter is not slanted in either direction, at least not as much as the W in "White". --Ricard Desi (t,c) 21:12, 2 February 2010 (EST)

iStory question
I have a question about the latest iStory, and since you're the writer (nice job btw :D), it makes the most sense to ask you here. The latest iStory seemed to imply that Mulligan could also fast-forward time, evidenced by the sentence "...and right now he's stuck on fast-forward and shorting out" and the scene where he rewinds and seemingly accelerates time in order to "oscillate" and see the Watcher. Does he also have the power to accelerate time or am I just reading it too literally?--PJDEP - Need further explanation? 16:19, 3 February 2010 (EST)
- I was wondering that too... and I was also wondering if it was just me that read it like that, since the temporal rewind page hasn't been touched... --mc_hammark 16:21, 3 February 2010 (EST)
- Good question. No, Mulligan can't fast forward time. (Well, I didn't create the character--that was Zach Wilson--so I'll say that if he can fast forward time, he hasn't figured out how to do it.) Mulligan can only rewind time; he cannot pause or fast forward. But I can see how the two quotes put together could be confusing. The first quote, found here, says, "Rewinding time takes a lot of energy, and right now he's stuck on fast forward and shorting out." That's simply a play on words, not literal fast forwarding. I could say the exact same thing about any person who works harder than he should. The second, found here, says, "He begins to rewind and fast forward time so quickly, that he reaches a state of near-oscillation, pure vibration." This is just a case of the wording being a little off. It was referring to the speed he is rewinding time (meaning fast or slow). Sorry for the confusion...but great question! :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 17:40, 3 February 2010 (EST)

Company partner
I don't know if this has ever been suggested, but do you think it would be useful on the wiki to include "Company partner(s)" on the character template? --Ricard Desi (t,c) 09:54, 7 February 2010 (EST)
- You mean information from the list of Company partnerships in the character infoboxes? Possibly. But a lot of those infoboxes are already quite bloated, and some people had numerous partners. Personally, I'd rather see the information in the "About" section, or even the lead section of the character pages. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 09:56, 7 February 2010 (EST)
Time
I'm a little bit confused, here in the Netherlands it's 21:45 (the time). On the recent changes page is written that in the USA it's 20:48, so does that mean that Heroes starts in the USA on NBC in 15 minutes? (Sorry about the whole time thing, I never really understood the time in the USA, I mean in NY it's a different time than in LA)-- Yoshi | Talk | Contributions 15:51, 8 February 2010 (EST)
- Just so you know, it's 20:50 (ish) right now in the UK, and going from your post above, it seems to be only coming up for 4 in the US. --mc_hammark 15:53, 8 February 2010 (EST)
- But the UK and the Netherlands should have the same time, right?-- Yoshi | Talk | Contributions 15:54, 8 February 2010 (EST)

- Thanks :), but about the USA, how is it possible to air Heroes on 9PM when you got different times in different states?-- Yoshi | Talk | Contributions 15:59, 8 February 2010 (EST)
- The continental United States has four time zones. From east to west, they are Eastern Time, Central Time, Mountain Time, and Pacific Time. Heroes starts at 9 pm ET, 8 pm CT, which is exactly the same time. I think it starts at 9 pm MT, and 9 pm PT, but I'm not sure...however, it's definitely different times than in the east. The reason for the difference is because if the entire country showed the show at the same time, it would be 9 pm in the east, but only 6 pm in the west, and people wouldn't even be home from work at that time. The way they operate this difference is through local affiliates--NBC is the network, but local stations are the ones who show NBC shows. So I might watch NBC on Channel 8 here in Pennsylvania, but somebody in New York might watch NBC on Channel 4 (even though we're in the same time zone). Somebody on the west coast might watch on a completely different channel--it all depends on the local affiliate showing the broadcast, I believe.
On Heroes Wiki, you can specify your time zone in your preferences. Just go into the "Date and time" tab, and find the spot for your time zone. If you're not sure what it is, I think you can just click "Fill in from browser", and your browser will tell Heroes Wiki what time zone you're in. I think. -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 16:23, 8 February 2010 (EST)

- I've actually wondered about that also. I would have loved having a teacher who watched the same TV shows as the rest of the class back in sixth grade :D--PJDEP - Need further explanation? 16:35, 8 February 2010 (EST)
- They all know. (I used the editing process I just went through with the iStory as an example of how to edit their papers.) A good number know what Heroes is, but only a few (maybe 5 to 10 students out of 70) watch Heroes on a regular basis. Remember, it's not just the fact that they're 11 and 12 years old--they were only 7 and 8 when the show started, so not many have jumped on board in the intervening time. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 16:37, 8 February 2010 (EST)
- I used to watch American Idol all the time 1) because it was a really good show, but also 2) because I could talk to my students about it the next day. Especially when I was teaching younger grades (2nd, 3rd, and 4th), there were so few shows that the kids would watch that I would watch too. And even if there were a few (like Family Guy), I didn't feel comfortable talking about those shows with my students because of the inappropriate content. So American Idol was always a good show that crossed generation lines, and was good, clean family fun. (This year, I'm not watching American Idol because, believe it or not, I miss Paula's kookiness. Plus, with Simon leaving, I'm afraid the show is going downhill. Plus, I don't have a lot of time to watch!)
But I love telling my kids about my Heroes adventures. When they were asking about the Haiti earthquakes, I told them about my conversation with Jimmy Jean-Louis. When we do interviews in class to practice reading comprehension, I tell them a bit about some of my Heroes interviews. Last year we tried doing some work on a private wiki, and I shared some editing tips with them. I talk to them about the process of editing all the time. And I even gave my class last year extra credit if they were able to find me on YouTube. :) It's all nerdy fun, with a bit of education along the way. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 16:44, 8 February 2010 (EST)

- As much as I love Family Guy I think it's started to go a bit downhill and get repetitive. Now the Star Wars spoofs they done, those were amazing. If it were up to me, I'd have them just do movie spoofs and release one a month. --mc_hammark 17:06, 8 February 2010 (EST)

As a sort of aspiring playwright/screenwriter, I was wondering how you came to do writing work with NBC. It seems really cool to be able to add your own work and unique style to an established universe as popular as that of Heroes. --Ricard Desi (t,c) 17:12, 8 February 2010 (EST)
- It is pretty cool, and I consider myself very lucky. I'm not really sure how the job came about...I guess it's mostly the relationship I've built up over time with several of the Heroes staff--Joe Tolerico in particular. Joe asked me to do some work on Heroes: Survival, and then asked if I had any interest in writing an iStory chapter. It was a very generous offer, and I'm grateful just for the opportunity. Supercharging
Regarding my recent move of "Red lightning" to "supercharging", what did I do wrong?--PJDEP - Need further explanation? 00:23, 9 February 2010 (EST)

When it's being moved over a page that already exists, like the case with supercharging, the page that already exists has to be deleted. -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 00:25, 9 February 2010 (EST)
