Not sure if this is the place to put this

But do you know if an Australian TV network is broadcasting Heroes? It was previously on channel Seven but I am not sure whether or not they are showing the latest season. They have had a habit of putting Heroes on later and later as the season progresses and I am unsure whether they will even bother this season.--Steelymcbeam 23:34, 1 February 2009 (EST)

  • Wow, someone in the same boat as me! As far as I know, Seven still own the rights to the show, but will probably air Volume Four, and, by that stage, possibly Five, in the ratings off-season in December-January. If you weren't aware, Heroes hasn't exactly set the ratings on fire in Australia. However, I am hoping they make a Ten HD-style move, and air it on 7HD like Ten have done will Smallville and Battlestar Galactica. -- Tristan0709 talk 00:02, 2 February 2009 (EST)
    • Yeah I know Heroes hasn't been a success in Australia, but from what I gather neither has Lost and that looks to still continue. Hopefully it will be aired, otherwise I can just watch it online.--Steelymcbeam 05:40, 2 February 2009 (EST)
      • I couldn't say, I have no idea about broadcasting in Australia. Sorry! -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 07:56, 2 February 2009 (EST)
        • Well tristan and steely what i do becuase i live in uk is go on google and write megavideo then the name of the episode and then find it before it gets removed. Gabriel Bishop 03:39, 15 February 2009 (EST) Gabriel Bishop

Da premiere

Doing anything big tonight for da pemiere?--Citizen 12:43, 2 February 2009 (EST)

  • My wife is working tonight, and I usually like to wait until she gets home to watch it with her. However, she'll but working till about 11:30, so I might watch it first by myself, then watch it again with her. Shhh. Nothing big, though--we might get some Ben & Jerry's. :) Why, have you got some fun plans for tonight? -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 13:24, 2 February 2009 (EST)
    • Well, tonight will mark the first night I'll get to watch Heroes live, so that's quite a thrill. And just live/post-episode chat with fans from 9th. Looking forward to it.--Citizen 15:13, 2 February 2009 (EST)

About Peter's current ability

Before I went and made up another ability, I wanted to get your thoughts on the subject. I was thinking about making "Ability mimicry" and having the description be: The ability to temporarily exhibit the ability of another evolved human after physical contact. It seems that he was no longer able to use the strength he picked up from Mohinder after he touched Tracy and acquired her ability of Freezing. Let me know what you think. --Bentonyang 22:23, 2 February 2009 (EST)

  • I think you're absolutely right, he wasn't able to use Mohinder's strength. It was almost as if he was only able to hold on to one ability at a time. Interesting, too, that Nathan asked him what he was able to do these days, and Peter replied, "What was the last thing you saw me do?" I think that's the essence of his ability now. I don't think that's really been confirmed yet, though, so I'm not sure I would add a new ability page yet. I would get others' opinions on the matter. -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 22:27, 2 February 2009 (EST)
    • That's a great observation, Bentonyang. But Ryan, I'm confused about how we're supposed to list his abilities now... how do you suggest we go about doing that? Sincerely, Thrashmeister [ U | T | C ] 22:30, 2 February 2009 (EST)
      • I'm confused, too. I don't have a suggestion that I feel strongly about. Let's get some discussion going on a talk page... -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 22:32, 2 February 2009 (EST)
    • I figured at first that he had the same ability he had before and that they just added an effect to it. However the fact that they added an effect, coupled with his touching Mohinder (and Tracy) first, plus his comment to Nathan... and finally PLUS their realization that Peter becomes too powerful too easily probably convinced them to alter his ability slightly now that he got it back. It could also explain why he was so worried about getting blown out of the plane rather than just flying back inside. So at this point I think you're right and his ability is now different... which I'm very glad to see. (Admin 22:36, 2 February 2009 (EST))
      • Agree, Admin. I'm very happy that it's different--yet it still maintains the essence of his old ability, which was absorbing the abilities of others. Only now, he seems to absorb them one at a time....If only we had a name for it. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 22:39, 2 February 2009 (EST)
        • Isn't "ability mimicry" good enough? I mean, empathy doesn't appear to be required at the moment so I don't think that has to be part of the name. The only trouble is that it might be "ability absorption" (what Arthur had), but we won't know until at least next week when we find out if the other people Peter touched on the plane still have their abilities...--MiamiVolts (talk) 23:21, 2 February 2009 (EST)
          • That works for me. It doesn't seem to be Arthur's ability, though--Peter could only have one ability at a time, where Arthur could have multiple. -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 00:14, 3 February 2009 (EST)
            • I wouldn't go with ability mimicry, this doesn't suggest that Peter can only take on one ability at a time (it sort of suggest other-wise), I think we should wait until next episode to find out. ---- Bring on the Irony 11:31, 4 February 2009 (EST)

Number of Episodes for Season 3?

Hey Ryan...does season 3 have 26 episodes and is this news? I thought it was supposed to be 24/25? Also, any schedule update, this site shows 26 episodes with the season ending in April end!? Futon Critic The ODI 14:10, 3 February 2009 (EST)

  • There are only 25, as far as I know. In fact, Greg Beeman said there were 25 in last night's blog entry (13 in the first volume, and 12 in the second). Where are you seeing 26 episodes listed on Heroes Wiki? -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 16:47, 3 February 2009 (EST)
    • Oops I guess how I wrote my post, made it sound like the info was listed here on Heroes Wiki, but I actually posted a link to Futon Critic above where it is listed. I sent the info to Andy and he said that FC is a reliable source and gets press releases a day or two early. So perhaps a small typo and will go with Beeman says for now... :) The ODI 17:31, 3 February 2009 (EST)
      • Oh, didn't see the link. Could be 25. I've always trusted Futon Critic in the past, but it's also possible they make mistakes like everyone else. If it's a true thing, I'm sure NBC will promote it, so we'll catch word of it in a day or two if it's authentic. -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 19:38, 3 February 2009 (EST)
        • Just got official confirmation direct from Gary Mednick at NBC that it IS 25 episodes with the finale on April 27th. Sucks it will end early, but at least we know now. The ODI 14:46, 4 February 2009 (EST)
          • OMG! It will end so early??? I'm happy because there won't be any breaks between the episodes but then we'll have to wait 5 months for the next volume!--Alen76 15:06, 15 February 2009 (EST)
            • On the upside, it will give a big chunk of time for the graphic novels to really develop a good storyline. Remember how compelling the evsdropr stuff was last year? Or the backstories for Claude, Candice, and the Haitian the year before that? I really enjoy the summer graphic novels, and I'm especially looking forward to them this year. -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 16:08, 15 February 2009 (EST)

Question about contributions - user pages created

  • Hi Ryan, long time not internet chat speak :). Is there any way to get a list of user pages created instead of the wiki pages?
(Sorry not to the point, but also (1) Should I create a few of the un-aired character pages as the whole of Seson 2 is virtually blank and I have the DVD so I know who they are. (2) Should I help with the quote pages, most have the afd tag on them so I wasn't sure I should help?) ---- Bring on the Irony 11:37, 4 February 2009 (EST)
    • Use this code:
      {{#dpl:|createdby=Irony|namespace=User|ordermethod=firstedit}}
See the sandbox to check out what it looks like. This link should also list all user pages that start with "Irony" (in case you didn't actually start one of your own pages). Hope that helps!

If you'd like to create some of the unaired character pages, that'd be great! Let me know if you need a hand with them.

I'm not sure what's going on with the quotes pages. I don't think they're a bad idea, but I don't like them exactly as they are now. It should probably be discusses at the community portal--I believe there's already a discussion going on there now. -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 15:33, 4 February 2009 (EST)

      • Thanks for the code. You may have noticed that I created the Robert Keep page, but I can't find an image for him (it is on the portal but I can't find it). I was on the community portal talking about the quotes page but the conversation seems to have died down. --Irony - (talk) 15:38, 4 February 2009 (EST)
  • Sorry, I am still having trouble with a few images, you might have to patch some gaps. :) --Irony - (talk) 15:54, 4 February 2009 (EST)
    • That's fine... Here are all the caps, though:

Hope that helps! -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 16:01, 4 February 2009 (EST)

  • It does! (I've copied them into my sandbox so you can delete them if you want (they make the page very long). Thanks :) --Irony - (talk) 16:14, 4 February 2009 (EST)

a few things

Hey Ryan. First off, I notice that the navbar at the top of your talk page needs updating to include your Archive 23 (January 2009). Second, if it's not too much work, could you please delete all the pages/templates inside my User:Radicell/Webisodes project? It's a project I've abandoned, so I don't need those pages/templates anymore. Thirdly, I've notice another example of the naming issue I talked about last time. This time, I think Marie should be moved to Marie (Moonlight Serenade), so that the Marie page can be a redirect to Marie (disambig). I don't think, in this case, that either Marie should be placed above the other. What do you think? --Radicell 05:50, 5 February 2009 (EST)

Character connections

Ryan, do you know if there is a program that would allow me to create a character connection chart? Something like this and this? Something like they have at the Marvel website (like this). Since Heroes has so many characters and we already have a connections page, I thought it'd be interesting to have something like that. Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 11:03, 6 February 2009 (EST)

  • Sorry, I don't know of anything specific that could make that kind of a chart. Actually, the two from Lostpedia look like they're just made with an image editor like Gimp. In fact, most of the tools might be available on a program like Microsoft Word or Word Perfect....I feel like I've seen something like that on Facebook...maybe like a relationship chart or something? I don't know specifics, though. Sorry... -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 17:04, 6 February 2009 (EST)

Building 26

Hey guy...correct me if im wrong...but isn't Hiro and Ando's lair Building 26?....i mean, i'm pretty sure that was the number on the door or the fire house when Hiro opened the door? and if so, is it cool if i put that on the Spoiler Building 26 page--Anthony Gooch 12:28, 6 February 2009 (EST)

  • It was firehouse 38.--Citizen 15:33, 6 February 2009 (EST)
    • Yeah, it was 38. See here or here. Building 26 is the name of an upcoming episode, but I don't think we've been introduced to any building by that name yet. -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 17:04, 6 February 2009 (EST)
    • ok, and while i have your attention, i have a question/theory about sylar...do you think in some kinda weird freaky mojo way his ability has been empathic mimicry, we saw him connect on a 'sad' level with elle and it just that on some deep level he connected with people 'in pain' (his victims) and was able to acquire their power all along--Anthony Gooch 12:01, 12 February 2009 (EST)
      • Sorry to put my nose where I was called, but this theory is flawed. If Sylar had gotten all his powers like this, we wouldn't have lost them to the Shanti virus. Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 12:16, 12 February 2009 (EST)
      • I don't think Sylar has the same ability as Peter originally had. Similar, but not the same. I think he learned how to absorb Elle's power through being an empathetic person, but I don't think he had the same ability as Peter. I believe this was addressed by Joe Pokaski and Aron Coleite in a Behind the Eclipse, but I don't remember which one. -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 12:53, 12 February 2009 (EST)
  • Isn't Building 26 where Nathan was talking on the phone to Angela in last week's episode? I thought I saw it mentioned in the screentext, but I'm not sure.--MiamiVolts (talk) 12:25, 12 February 2009 (EST)
    • It is, it appears when Nathan's on the phone. Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 12:29, 12 February 2009 (EST)
      • Yes. Building 26 is where Nathan was telling the story to Angela on the phone. It's also the name of an upcoming episode. Building 38 is where Hiro and Ando have their lair. -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 12:53, 12 February 2009 (EST)
        • Ok, ok, all points taken well! lol--Anthony Gooch 22:43, 12 February 2009 (EST)

Archiving

Hi Ryan. Shouldn't there be a help page on how to archive, I don't need to because nobody ever talks to me See :(. I still think it would be useful though --IronyUTC CH 12:38, 6 February 2009 (EST)

  • We're working something regarding that on the test site, and considering adding a newpage template for automating the archiving. I'm waiting for all that to get sorted out before drafting a help page since I'm guessing the procedure is likely to change soon.--MiamiVolts (talk) 13:55, 6 February 2009 (EST)

FlamingBiscuits

Ryan, could you go through his contributions? Every now and then some of his contributions constitute vandalism and possible revert war. Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 15:52, 6 February 2009 (EST)

  • I'll take a look. Thanks for the heads up. By the way, if you take issue with an edit or multiple edits from contributors, feel free to make comments on their talk pages. It helps if discipline needs to be taken--that way they're not hearing it from me for the first time, and we cover ourselves by warning people of their behavior within a reasonable amount of time. When doing so, keep in mind Wikipedia's excellent principle of assuming good faith, realizing that edits that may look like vandalism may not be as intentional as they seem. When correcting an editor for the first time, it's okay to be kind and polite yet firm and direct. -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 17:04, 6 February 2009 (EST)
    • Yeah, I've had trouble with polite yet firm in the past, I'm sick of people accusing me of pursuing them and checking if I'm a sypop before they start disrespecting me. Long story short, AGF hardly ever works for me. Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 17:29, 6 February 2009 (EST)
      • It's not an easy principle to follow. Believe me, I know! However, it's still an integral part of wiki-ing. Take a look at this essay--it might help put things into perspective a bit. If people disrespect you, that's one thing--let me know if anybody is disrespectful to you, and I will take care of it from the administrator's level. However, we should never begin a "confrontational" discussion (like calling somebody on their silly edits) by being rude ourselves. I'm not pointing that to you at all--I can't think of any times you have been rude. I'm just saying that as a general guideline for anybody reading this. And you're right, AGF very often doesn't work. Many times, people vandalize the site, and they do it intentionally. However, it would be a shame to automatically ban everybody from the site who has ever made an edit that's silly. Some of our very good editors (and even a patroller or two) began with a rough start and by making silly and/or antagonistic edits. They turned themselves around and got their acts together, thank goodness. If we hadn't exercised AGF, they wouldn't be here. Now, that's not the case with everybody, of course. But we don't want to throw out the baby with the bathwater, of course. Long story short, I know it's not always easy to be patient, but it's still necessary. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 17:43, 6 February 2009 (EST)

The plane crash

Hey, I'm a newbie in editing so I just wanted to ask the experienced ones if they could make a new article here about the plane crash in the last episode. Thanks!--Alen76 16:16, 7 February 2009 (EST)

  • I could...but if you're inexperienced, you might want to try to make the article yourself for practice. Don't worry about messing up--others will be by to fix and clean and edit it. Just click on this link and start editing! :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 17:04, 7 February 2009 (EST)
    • Thanks! I will probably start when another episode airs because of the lack of information.--Alen76 08:41, 8 February 2009 (EST)

Hey, creating the plane crash page but need an image of the plane itself, do you have one or a link to it?--Steelymcbeam 09:59, 8 February 2009 (EST)

  • Don't worry mate, found one already.--Steelymcbeam 10:13, 8 February 2009 (EST)
    • Thanks for making that page!--Alen76 13:16, 8 February 2009 (EST)

Peter's ability

I think that Peter's Ability's name should change to Empathic Mimic Touch. The ability to copy another evoled humans ability one at a time through physical contact. Badluck2772 12:52, 8 February 2009

  • Hey mate, you should click the + next to the edit button next time, it starts a new topic instead of carrying on from this one. Also sign your signature by clicking the signature button.--Steelymcbeam 12:55, 8 February 2009 (EST)
  • Thanks for the suggestion, Badluck. I actually prefer just calling the ability "Peter's ability" for now since the writers and producers don't have a name for it yet. But that's just my opinion. I don't have the authority to just go ahead and change a name--and I wouldn't even if I did have that authority. That's a decision for the community as a whole to make. It can be discussed at Talk:Peter's ability. Thanks! -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 14:22, 8 February 2009 (EST)

Shouldn't we add it?

Shouldn't we add Flight 195 crash to the events box?--Steelymcbeam 14:47, 8 February 2009 (EST)

  • Yes, I was just thinking that  :) --IronyUTC CH 14:47, 8 February 2009 (EST)
    • Yeah, I haven't gotten to it yet. Feel free to do that if you'd like. -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 14:48, 8 February 2009 (EST)
      • Already done :) --IronyUTC CH 14:49, 8 February 2009 (EST)
        • Hey I did the box you did the portal--Steelymcbeam 14:54, 8 February 2009 (EST)

Hey

I am adding relevant theories that have not been disproven to the Theory:Drug dealer page, but Intuitive Empath continues to delete them, stating he will not let another Mr Muggles happen. I don't understand, the theories I posted are possible and until otherwise should be allowed to rest on the theory page. Afterall they are just theories, they are possible and are doing no harm than allowing speculation on him.--Steelymcbeam 02:06, 9 February 2009 (EST)

  • Thanks for letting me know. Most of the theories that are there right now seem valid. Far-fetched, but valid. However, this should be discussed at Theory talk:Drug dealer before being brought to an administrator's attention. I see Intuitive Empath has already posted his comments there. You might want to join the discussion on that page where it's fair for all to discuss. -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 08:02, 9 February 2009 (EST)

Sortnames

Hi, I noticed you undid my edits to the sortnames of Male party guest, Female party guest (I), and Female party guest (II). However, the reason I changed them was because of here, where the same sort of situation occurs, using "fan" instead of "Party guest". I had thought that terms that differentiate conflicting characters (Male/Female, Black-haired/Redhead, (I)/(II)), etc. were to be left out of sortnames, that's why I had changed them. So, in this case, "Male" and "Female" stays? In that case should we change Portal:Matt-Related Graphic Novel Characters too?

  • Portals are one things, categories are another. A portal's organization is a little bit looser and can cut off parts of names to suit spacing, organizing, or whatever, really. However, if you user the sortname variable in the character box, it sorts the article under that name in every category. So, that means female party guest (I) would be sorted under "P" in Category:Characters, Category:Humans, Category:Female Characters, and every other category on which that character is listed. The only explicit changes that really should be made is to sort a person by their last name instead of their first names in the categories. I can't think of too many other sortname changes that would need to be made. Does that make sense, or am I speaking gibberish? (I have a habit of that.) If you need me to clarify, let me know. -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 15:48, 9 February 2009 (EST)
    • Alright, that makes sense. I hadn't considered the other categories, so now I'd agree with your reverts. Even though I contribute regularly, there's still parts of the wiki that I'm figuring out, thanks for the reply. --Radicell 03:13, 10 February 2009 (EST)
      • Me too--I'm amazed at what I continue to learn, and what I don't know... Just wait until the next MediaWiki upgrade! -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 07:15, 10 February 2009 (EST)

Looks like you've already done this one. Thanks, Ryan. If you want to sit out the next one, let me know [my cell is working again (had to take it to the shop for a new sim card)]. But if you want to do it regularly, feel free. It's nice to reduce the text messaging charges on my phone bill. BTW, be sure to note which time zone you recorded this interactive from. On the main page for the Heroes Interactive, I put that by default all the interactives are from the Pacific timezone unless otherwise specified.--MiamiVolts (talk) 00:23, 10 February 2009 (EST)

  • I thought I did put the time zone I used when I showed the choice "A". Is there somewhere else I should note it? -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 00:27, 10 February 2009 (EST)
    • I guess that's enough, though I was thinking a note at the bottom would be useful to make it clear. I often skip reading that part since it is repetitive each week. Also, just cause you marked it ET doesn't mean that's what happened... if Heroes had been delayed an hour due to the President's conference, you might have needed to choose the Central timezone option to get the messages with the show.--MiamiVolts (talk) 00:40, 10 February 2009 (EST)

          • You might want to take a look at the note I added along with the corrections. I had already subscribed for tonight, and found an additional question in the Pacific version that you hadn't noted (I guess it wasn't in the ET version due to the President's address?). Feel free to move it if it belongs elsewhere.--MiamiVolts (talk) 01:13, 10 February 2009 (EST)

Theory move

Theory:Peter's ability needs to be moved to the new name, but someone else already created Theory:Ability replication. Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 15:07, 10 February 2009 (EST)

  • There's also Theory:Ability Replication. - Josh (talk/contribs) 16:08, 10 February 2009 (EST)
    • When was it decided that that's the name of Peter's ability? Is there something I'm missing? Last I checked, which was yesterday, there wasn't a consensus on a name. I don't personally mind the name, but it's not up to me. It's up to the consensus of the community. 24 hours is certainly not enough time to find consensus for a descriptive name. -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 16:20, 10 February 2009 (EST)

  • Dunno for sure. Should we start a new page for Pinehearst messages? -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 23:08, 10 February 2009 (EST)
    • It belongs to the iStory. It's for the first chapter of the third iStory volume. It belongs on a new page for that volume.--MiamiVolts (talk) 23:19, 10 February 2009 (EST)
      • Is that where we'll put all the messages from Pinehearst? -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 23:20, 10 February 2009 (EST)
        • If there's more from Pinehearst, they are most likely related to the iStory. We should probably add a pointer on the Pinehearst Company page, or simply add the messages there till we catch up with documenting the iStory.--MiamiVolts (talk) 23:28, 10 February 2009 (EST)
          • We need to add a redirect from Pinehearst messages to where ever they are being archived so people can search for them. -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 23:32, 10 February 2009 (EST)
            • Added a redirect for the last message. If we want to point to one place for them, though, it looks like we'll have to make 'Pinehearst messages' be a separate article since the future messages will be in the new volume.--MiamiVolts (talk) 23:44, 10 February 2009 (EST)

Age appropriate

Gots a question for you... what is the "age rating" of Heroeswiki? I was contemplating making the second part of my sig "talk dirty to me..." but didn't want to offend.

The origin of why I would be using that will be a little more understood once I get my user page finished.

So, back to the issue, would that sig be against any rules? And to match that, is my user pic against any rules? Angielynne - talk to me... 18:57, 11 February 2009 (EST)

  • There is no age limit for Heroes Wiki...but I tend to edit my own speech to be about the same level of appropriateness as Heroes itself. I don't personally have a problem with either one of the issues you're asking about. Just remember that there are young kids (tweens) who regularly frequent this site. Use your best judgment. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 19:45, 11 February 2009 (EST)
  • Consider that we've seen some relatively racy video of Nathan and Jessica already in the show, so I think the "talk dirty to me" wouldn't be bad in comparison. :) (Admin 19:47, 11 February 2009 (EST))

Maya's drink

Did DJ Doyle mention anything about her spilled drink being water? It's written as water on the telekinesis page, but I can't find where that is confirmed.--MiamiVolts (talk) 02:11, 12 February 2009 (EST)

  • No. You got the bulk of the email at Talk:Misha's ability. I left out stuff he wrote about Shepard Fairey, Obama, and the Heroes boards. :) I'll change it to "drinks". -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 02:14, 12 February 2009 (EST)
    • Thanks for clarifying that. I think I see where you were going in your edit summary that it's unlikely that Maya is drinking water at a bar, though perhaps she is drinking for two...--MiamiVolts (talk) 02:24, 12 February 2009 (EST)
      • What's funny is that when I first read your above post, I thought you were suggesting she was pregnant. "Drinking for two". A sick and twisted pregnancy that would be! -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 02:25, 12 February 2009 (EST)
        • Funny? I was suggesting she might be pregnant... staying away from alcoholic drinks is often a sign. But yes, if she is pregnant it could get scary.--MiamiVolts (talk) 02:28, 12 February 2009 (EST)

For Ability Replication?

Should we be adding "replicated by" as a new part of the power infobox? It is so far, quite different from empathic mimicry and doesn't look to be going away so shouldn't it be added to inform exactly how Peter is using the stated ability?--Steelymcbeam 06:44, 12 February 2009 (EST)

Autosig question

Hey there RGS, I had a question about my autosig. I finally decided to make one yesterday. However, whenever I try to enter my signature using ~~~~, instead of putting {{User:Thrashmeister/Sigmeister}}, it just puts all of the content for my signature in {{User:Thrashmeister/Sigmeister}} on the page that I'm trying to sign. I checked my preferences, and it turns out that even though I put {{User:Thrashmeister/Sigmeister}} as my signature, it converts it to {{SUBST:User:Thrashmeister/Sigmeister}} as soon as I save my preferences. How can I make it so that my signature turns out like yours, or anyone else's autosig? Do I actually have to type out {{User:Thrashmeister/Sigmeister}} every time I want to sign? Thanks! -Sincerely, Thrashmeister » talk- 12:05, 13 February 2009 (EST)

  • You need both a sig and an autosig subpage. Have the sig be your actual sig and the autosig contain a template invocation of your sig. That should do it, as long as you point your preferences to the autosig. It's explained in Help:Signatures.--MiamiVolts (talk) 12:11, 13 February 2009 (EST)
    • That seems to have done it. Thanks, Miami! -Sincerely, Thrashmeister » talk- 12:17, 13 February 2009 (EST)

My sig

  • Is there any special way to add the timestap to my signature template, or do I have to add it manually? -- Psilaq R.- \m/ -_- \m/-
    • Yeah, I think you can add it, but you need to use the time builtin. It's kind of tricky coding, though, so it may take some troubleshooting.--MiamiVolts (talk) 12:11, 13 February 2009 (EST)
      • I've tried doing that, and it proved more difficult than was worth it. It's best to just have your preferences designate your customized signature, and then use the four tildes to create the timestamp. -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 16:27, 13 February 2009 (EST)

An Unseen Ability

I have found an ability which there isn't a page for yet. It is here. Hope you like it :) --IronyUTC CH 12:59, 14 February 2009 (EST)

  • Love it. Better than Induced Yellification. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 13:01, 14 February 2009 (EST)
    • I'd never seen that one before, it's great :) --IronyUTC CH 13:07, 14 February 2009 (EST)
      • I was just making this one and I think it's the best, see here, I espicially like the limits and the image caption. Also, sorry about the Hana nosebleed thing, didn't realise. :)--IronyUTC CH 13:25, 14 February 2009 (EST)
        • Fantastic! But Peter only? What about Mohinder?! And no worries about the nosebleed page. As you can see from the discussion, I have mixed feelings on the Hana issue, but I lean towards not including it. I'm not sure the page is very well defined. -- RyanGibsonStewart (new comment) 14:02, 14 February 2009 (EST)
          • Mohinder, should've thought of him :) Anyone other ideas? --IronyUTC CH 14:12, 14 February 2009 (EST)
        • And this one :) --IronyUTC CH 13:51, 14 February 2009 (EST)
