Sedation is the ability to cause a victim to fall into a hypnotic or sedated state.

Limits
Samson first demonstrated this ability on a rabbit that he was going to use for his taxidermy buisness. When he released the rabbit from it's cage, he concentrated and whistled as it attempted to run away causing the rabbit to stop in it's place. Samson later used this ability on his son Gabriel when he attempted to acquire his ability of rapid cell regeneration. After pinning Gabriel to a wall, Samson extended his hand towards Gabriel and whistled, causing Gabriel to drift off into a sedated state of semi consciousness. It was later revealed that Sylar was playing possum and was able to overcome this ability. (Shades of Gray)
