Consciousness transference is the ability to relocate a person's consciousness into someone else's body.
Characters
- A future Peter Petrelli is the only character known to have this ability.
Limits
Future Peter claims to have hid his current self inside Jesse Murphy, who claims to be Peter Petrelli during Sylar's attack on Level 5. Future Peter believed that he was keeping his present day self safe by doing this, and planned to undo this action when it was safe. However, whether or not Future Peter was actually capable of doing this is unknown.
Thus far, Jesse's appearance has not changed while Peter is inside his body and Peter has maintained full control of Jesse's actions while he has resided within him. It is unknown as to whether Peter can use his own abilities or those of the body he is inhabiting. Whether Peter's physical body is sharing the same space as Jesse's or only his consciousness is inside Jesse is also unknown.
Notes
- Future Peter's use of this ability on his younger self has not been shown, and the effects of the ability have only been seen after the fact. In addition, it is unknown as to whether Future Peter can use the ability to insert himself into another's body and from whom Future Peter obtained this ability.
