Ability absorption

Arthur Petrelli absorbs Peter's abilities
Held by: Arthur Petrelli
Ability to: Steal other abilities through physical contact

Arthur's ability allows Arthur to gain the abilities of other evolved humans through physical means, rendering them powerless. This ability is similar to Peter's or Sylar's. It probably is a family gene, which dominates on masculine

gender.

Limits

Arthur seems to need physical contact with a person to use his ability, as he needs Knox to force Adam to touch his hand for him to steal his ability. It may be that Arthur's ability stems from skin to skin contact, since that has been the case in both examples seen so far. (Adam's on hand on his, Peter's cheek on his.)

When Arthur stole Adam Monroe's power, Adam no longer had his abilities; most notably, the suppression of aging aspect of his ability. Since Adam was over 400 years old, his years caught up with him, reducing him to dust.
