Atmospheric Manipulation is the ability to manipulate any substance in the state of gas.
Characters
- Michael Long is the only character known to have this ability.
Limits
Michael exhibits the power of atmospheric manipulation which allows the user to control any substance in the form of gas. His power first manifested as being able to increase or decrease the atmospheric pressure, applying stress to objects, and compressing small objects into the ground. In the exposed future, he makes a group of criminals fall to the ground and crushes their bodies using his ability ( Resistance”).
When he first discovered his ability he discovered that he was able to sense and see the movement of the air allowing him to react quickly to moving objects. He could also “read” the weather accurately stating the exact time a rainstorm was going to occur. Chandra referred to him as the “Weatherman”, thinking that Michael’s ability was [control]
As he becomes more adept, Michael realizes that he can manipulate the weather and separate oxygen molecules from the air causing suffocation through oxygen deficiency. Additionally, he discovers that he is able to change the temperature of the air by causing friction between air particles. He can generate wind currents by creating areas in the atmosphere with dissimilar temperatures.
Michael’s ability requires active concentration. There are cases where he subconsciously affects the weather when he is facing strong emotions.
He is immune to the affects of his ability such as extreme pressure and lack of oxygen.
