Examples of poison emission

Maya's power is an as-yet unnamed ability to kill people in her vicinity.

Characters

• Maya is the only character known to have this ability.

Limits

When separated from her brother and distressed, Maya secretes a black liquid from her eyes. People near her when she manifests these symptoms rapidly become ill and die, also secreting black liquid from their eyes. The maximum range of this effect is not yet known.

Maya appears to have little, if any, control over her ability.

Alejandro's ability can negate this power and even reverse the effects on victims if applied quickly enough.

Examples

• Maya kills a group of coyotes. (Four Months Later).
• Maya kills her and Alejandro's guide across the border, but she is brought back by Alejandro. (Lizards).
• Maya kills two police officers and Derek to release her brother, who later brings them back (Kindred)
