Telekinesis is the ability to move objects with the mind.

Characters

• Brian Davis is the first character (chronologically) to demonstrate this ability.
• Sylar acquires telekinetic abilities after murdering Brian.
• Peter Petrelli has absorbed this ability from Sylar and reproduced it.

Limits

Telekinesis requires active concentration.

Brian Davis had extremely limited telekinetic ability. With concentration, he was able to move a cup slowly across the surface of a table. Brian was afraid of his power, and never tried to develop it.

Sylar has demonstrated far more advanced and conrolled telekinetic abilities than Brian, probably because Sylar has actively developed the power. He can exert enough telekinetic force to flip a truck through the air or tear sheet metal with little physical force (often times the movement of a finger or a hand is enough), and he has enough control to cut off the top of a person's skull to expose the brain. He can simultaneously manipulate dozens of objects at once, as when he lifted shards of broken glass, oriented all of them to point away from him, and flung them across a room with deadly force (.07%).

Peter Petrelli is more powerful than Brian was, but not as adept as Sylar; he was able to stop Claude from striking him with a mop handle and throw Sylar across a room.

Sylar did not use his power directly against Peter after he turned invisible (.07%), suggesting that the target of this power must be visible to the user (if not actually in line of sight) or its location must be clearly known.

• In a possible future, Peter uses the power on several occasions. He moves a drink across the table and moves a armchair aside. Later, he tosses a Homeland Security guard out of his way. (Five Years Gone)
• Sylar telekinetically flips an armored vehicle carrying Ted, and rips the doors off their hinges. (Landslide)

Notes

• Chandra Suresh referred to Brian Davis's power as "telekinesis". The Mozaic file mentions "psychokinesis". In common usage, the two terms often refer to the same power.
