“We’re in prison, I don’t know why, it could have been Bonkins, but I don’t think so, there is something about this prison, something special” replied Irony.

“What do you mean special?” asked Derek

“Special, as in it seems like a prison for evolved humans, but in here no-one can use their ability”, he replied, “I don’t know why, it could be the result of an ability, Gabriel mentioned a few people like that, one had an ability called Ability Void, it meant anyone near him couldn’t use their ability, but as well as that, there are a few other abilities like mental manipulation which prohibit it as well”.
“Oh, okay, so how are we going to escape?” asked Derek “Are we allowed out of our cells?”
“I think so, we’re in Block B, it means that our abilities can kill people, but it can’t on a cataclysmic scale as induced radioactivity or a major ability”.
At that moment a siren went off, a squealed on for two minutes before a harsh, but strangely feminine voice said “All prisoners to the cafeteria, there will be a briefing on why you are here and how you will get out”.
“So, we are allowed out?” said Derek.
“Apparently so....” replied Irony, somewhat sceptically. Momentarily, there was a snap, and all the cell doors opened. Irony and Derek walked out together, and as they left the sheer size of the room shocked them, there were 14 cells in each row, each with two inmates and the building was at least 20 stories high. As they made their way to the hall, they met someone in the corridor.
“My name’s Matt, Matt Eyde” he said. “Why are you here?”
“I’m sorry, but who are you” said Derek, being overly cautious.
“I’m a hypnotherapist; I help people sleep, by using my ability. I touch people and they go to sleep, but that’s why I’m here and that’s why you’re here.”
“Sorry, I can make people’s abilities weaker and Derek can produce lightning from his hands, so you have sleep induction?”
“Yes, but the ironic thing, is that, ever since I’ve got here, I haven’t be able to get any sleep myself...” he said walking off. Two minutes later, Derek and Irony arrived at the cafeteria, there were evolved humans crowded around every table and at the top of the room, surrounded by a wall of bulletproof glass was a woman in front of a microphone.
“I’m Consula” the woman said, “Consula Hammock, and I’m the woman responsible for you being held here. You are all here because you are different, freaks and a danger to society and need to be held captive. Since you have been held here, you may have noticed that you can’t use your ability, which is thanks to our Diboaha project, we are working on administering it to you, and when we succeed, you will be released. That is all” she said pulling her suit down and walking out. When she left the room, the guard standing next to her moved to the microphone and said “All prisoners return to their cells”. As the prisoners returned to their cells, Irony dropped back.
“Where have you been?” said Derek, “I got here five minutes ago”.
“The guards, they’re not trained, whatsoever. It shouldn’t be hard to overcome them.”
“How do you know that? Got telepathy now?” replied Derek.
“I’m not Gabriel” said Irony bluntly, “You know the guy we met in the corridor, who had sleep induction? I told him to go up to the guard and put his hand on his chest, the guard didn’t even flinch and trained guard would have run a mile”.
“So, what do we do now?” asked Derek
“Now, we escape” replied Irony, “These doors, they’re electrically locked, even though the active sides of our abilities are being blocked, the passive effects aren’t, you should still have an electric current in you, if you force yourself across the door, it might just open”. Derek did this and after a few seconds there was a small click, as the lock opened. “Stop” said Irony, “let me look first”, as he went to the door, he peered round the corner, but no-one was there. “The guards are only here when we’re let out, but we need to move quickly, there could be patrols”.
“Let’s go then” replied Derek.
“If we’re going to be able to use our abilities, we need to head to the centre of the compound, as the thing stopping us use our abilities, Diboaha, we’ll be centred there. And, we’re in block B so we need to head to Block D for the centre” said Irony, while they were running along the corridor.
“How do you know all this?” asked Derek, “About the classes and the placing?”
“Didn’t you watch the X-Men, there were super powerful mutants like Magneto, which were class A mutants, then there were super powerful mutants who couldn’t live in society without being known were class B mutants, then there were people like iceman who were pretty....”
“Ok, I get it!” replied Derek. Five minutes later, they arrived in block D, “Which way?” asked Derek.
“It’s probably up” said Irony “Consula was in a room on the top, so that would be logical”. As Derek and Irony traversed the way to the steps, they saw a guard appear, “Derek you need to open that cell, quickly” whispered Irony. Derek touched the door and, after a few seconds, it opened. “Get in” he said, as he opened the door.
As they passed through the door, they found the prisoners in the cell, asleep. “Be quiet” said Irony, “If they wake, they might call guards”. They waited a few minutes, until they were sure the guard had passed, and then carefully opened the door. They saw no guards were there and then ran to the staircase, just on the left.
“What? There has been a break-out in block B? Who were the prisoners? Find them, now!” screamed Consula, as she was saying this Irony and Derek snuck into the room and hid behind a filing cabinet. “I’m going to supervise the Diboaha project myself; I want all guards to get to Block B” and as she said this she walked down a corridor to her right.
“We need to follow her” said Derek, creeping after her. After a few long corridors, they approached a door which said DIBOAHA on it. Consula walked up to it and inserted a four digit pin, once the door opened Irony tapped her on the back and said “Hi, we escaped” and Derek punched her as hard as he could. She fell on the floor, unconscious. As they entered they saw a man strapped to the table and another standing over him
“Help...” whispered the man on the table, “he’s forcing me to use my ability...”. Irony ran over to the man standing over “Project Diboaha”, he was concentrating as hard as he could to make him use it. Irony hit him and he fell back.
“Derek, untie him, we need to get him out of here” shouted Irony, punching the other man, until he fell on the ground. “Derek, can you use your ability?” he asked. As Derek was about to produce a bolt of electricity, two guards burst through the door and sent for bullets flying towards Irony’s chest, they were about to hit him, when he put his hands on his chest, all of a sudden a blur of blackness came from his hands and the room became cold, dark and the bullets coming towards him slowed down, to a snail’s pace. “Put your a hands up, said the guard”. Momentarily, the there was an explosion and the floor underneath them caved in. Two days later, “Urgh, where am I?” said Derek.
“I’m Karl and this is Leckie” a mysterious man said, “and this, is solitary confinement”.
