The Story

“Where is Abigail, she shouldn’t have gone off on her own,” mumbled Claude to himself, “if anything happens to her...”

Claude walked along the street, taking the odd purse, thinking to himself, when a mobile he ‘borrowed’ received a text from someone called REBEL.

He looked at the message it read: “Your family is in danger; get back to your house. From REBEL.” As soon as Claude read this he sprinted back to his house.

“Who was REBEL? Why is he helping us?” wondered Claude. “He has already got us to help one person today.”

Five hours earlier...

“Abigail, are we any closer to finding the team?” asked Claude.

“No, they have vanished. Looks like whoever ambushed you were professionals,” replied Abigail.

“Abigail, you have a message,” shouted Lee from downstairs.

“Maybe it’s Gabriel,” said Abigail. “Who’s REBEL?”

“How am I meant to know?” replied Claude.

“He says he knows where the team is, but will only help us if we help him.”

“What does he want?”

“He wants us to help someone called Ed Miller.”

“Fine, if it will help us find the team.”

Claude and Abigail followed REBEL’s instructions and found themselves at an apartment. “How are we going to do this?” asked Abigail. “Burst in and hope for the best or quietly observe until the agents appear?”

“I would prefer bursting in, but knowing you, we should go for the softly, softly approach,” replied Claude.

Claude then picked the lock and let them in. They stood at the side of the room and watched as Ed Miller sat eating his tea with his wife sitting opposite. There was an air of tension in the flat which Abigail and Claude could sense. Ed Miller looked angry and his wife looked scared.

It was quite small, but the furnishings showed that this person had done well for themselves. Claude turned them both invisible and went inside. “What do we have to do exactly?” asked Claude.

“Well according to REBEL the same people that ambushed you are going to ambush Ed and he wants us to save him,” replied Abigail.

“Well lets hurry this up, we need to find Irony, Derek and Gabriel,” said Claude.

“I hate my job,” said Ed.

“But you are so good at it, you’re the best interrogator the police force has,” replied his wife.

“Laura, you know that is only because I scare the scum so much, like you.”

“I am not scared of you, now would you like dessert?”

Laura got up and cleaned the table. She went into the kitchen to get the dessert when Ed got up and held out his hand and his wife suddenly froze in place. Ed walked around her and made his own dessert. He then sat at the table and looked at her, held out his hand, and she unfroze.

“You did it again didn’t you?” shouted Laura.

“So what if I did,” replied Ed.

Laura then ran into the bedroom crying while Abigail and Claude looked on.

“He is the type of person I used to help,” whispered Claude, “he needs help finding himself and help to control his ability.”

Just then agents burst in through the door, Ed jumped up and held his hand out and froze all of the agents in place. Claude then revealed himself with Abigail and explained why they were here.

“Ed get your wife we are leaving,” shouted Abigail, “we need to hurry there will be more on the...”

There was gun fire; Abigail instantly put up a force field protecting her and Claude. Ed was hit in the leg and Laura came running out of her room only to be shot in the chest. Abigail managed to get close enough to the gun man to knock him out by running at him with her force field up. Claude ran to see if Ed and Laura were all right. Laura was dead. Ed was crying on the floor next to her. Abigail came over and explained she saw more agents coming.

“I am not leaving her here,” screamed Ed.

“She’s dead, we need to save you,” replied Claude.

As Abigail was prying Ed away from Laura, the men that were frozen became unfrozen and they started shooting again. Abigail managed to grab Claude and encase them both but as she went to grab Ed, the agent shot a gas pipe and the whole flat was engulfed in flames, instantly killing everyone in it. Claude and Abigail had no choice but to turn invisible and escape. Once outside, Abigail blamed herself and ran off.

“Abigail come back!” shouted Claude.

He made his way back to the house, hoping Abigail would come back.

“Where is Abigail, she shouldn’t have gone off on her own,” mumbled Claude to himself, “if anything happens to her...”

Claude walked along the street, taking the odd purse, thinking to himself when a mobile he ‘borrowed’ received a text from someone called REBEL.

He looked at the message it read “Your family is in danger; get back to your house. From REBEL” as soon as Claude read this he sprinted back to his house.

“Who was rebel? Why is he helping us?” wondered Claude “He has already got us to help one person today.”

Meanwhile Abigail also received a text from REBEL and made her way back to the house. When she entered she shouted for Lee but there was no answer. Then there was gun fire she automatically put up a force field which sustained the attacks. Then a boy and girl appeared from nowhere.

“Who are you?” asked Abigail.

“It’s okay, we’re here to help,” replied the boy.

“We’re like you,” replied the girl.

Then the girl proceeded to literally make the ground swallow the agents.

“Where are the others?” asked the boy.

“Upstairs there are more of them too,” replied Abigail.

They three of them raced upstairs only to find Lee being taken by two agents.

“Lee!” shouted Abigail.

However as this had been going on, Claude had arrived back at the house and tackled some of the agents. He made himself visible to talk to Abigail.

“Who’s this?” asked the girl.

“That’s my...” Abigail began before being cut off by Claude.

“Never mind who I am, can you get her out of here?” asked Claude.

“Not a problem,” replied the boy.

“I’m not leaving without Lee,” shouted Abigail.

“And I’m not letting those bastards get their hands on you too. Now go!” commanded Claude.

“What about you?” questioned Abigail.

“I’m going to make sure you still have someone to marry,” replied Claude while rushing off, turning invisible and knocking some agents out at the same time. “Now get out of here.”

More agents appeared, Abigail produced her force field to stop some of the bullets and the girl made the ground rise to make a shield for the other bullets. “This place isn’t going to hold up much longer,” shouted the girl.

The boy then grabbed the two girls and told them to “hold on” while Abigail produced a force field that surrounded the three of them; the boy flew them away just as the house collapsed. Abigail had now become part of the fight against the government, she has now become part of REBEL with West, Sparrow and Micah.
